Detail Page

written by David Stern
Available Languages: English, Spanish
This web page outlines the magnetic properties of the planets. Most large planets in the solar system have magnetic fields, probably produced quite differently from ours. This is part of a large work, "The Exploration of the Earth's Magnetosphere", that gives a non-mathematical introduction to the magnetic properties of the planets and the sun, space weather, and the motion of charged particles in magnetic fields. A Spanish translation is available.
