The Physics Teacher Education Program Analysis (PTEPA) Rubric is a tool for characterizing physics teacher education programs. The PTEPA Rubric emphasizes elements that have been observed in "thriving" physics teacher education programs (programs at large universities that typically graduate five or more physics teachers in a year). It is intended to provide programs with feedback, to guide programs in self-reflection toward improvement, and to provide a means to characterize program growth. It will also be a tool for research, allowing investigation of how common features of programs and practices correlate with physics teacher graduation rates.
