This video demonstration illustrates Faraday's and Lenz's Law. A steel ball and a spherical magnet are dropped through a copper pipe. The difference in time for the balls to fall through the pipe indicate the additional force on the magnet due to the induced current in the pipe. The video includes a short explanation of the demonstration.
This video is part of a video demonstration collection created by the Physics Department at MIT.
