Electric Field Simulation and Game

This website contains three primary resources for instructors of introductory E&M students. Both the simulation and game, described below, will work on any device. We recommend using Google Chrome for best functionality. (1) An electric field simulation allows students to freely explore the effect of charge configurations on electric fields, electric potential, and the motion of test charges. ![](images/EFieldSimGame/Figure1.jpg "") A direct link to the simulation is available at https://icphysweb.z13.web.core.windows.net/simulation.html (2) An electric field game allows students an opportunity to put their qualitative understanding of electric fields to practice. Students create an electric field in the space by placing electric charges. The goal of the game is to get the test charge from the starting line to the finish line in shortest time possible. Points are also given for picking up stars along the way.
