2011 Active Learning with Video Analysis Workshop

May 3, 2011

The last Active Learning with Video Analysis workshop will be June 20-24, 2011, at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. The LivePhoto Physics project is offering the last NSF-funded 5-day workshop in the current series for university and college faculty interested in using digital video analysis in student research, lectures, tutorials, homework assignments, and laboratories. The workshop will cover both normal and high-speed capture and analysis techniques in mechanics, thermal physics, wave propagation, electricity, magnetism, and optics.

Lodging and meals will be provided by a grant from NSF. Participants' institutions will be expected to pay travel expenses. A small number of partial travel support stipends ($100 to $400) will be available for participants who can document a need for support and who work primarily with under-represented or under-prepared students.

Workshop Organizers: Bob Teese (RIT), Priscilla Laws (Dickinson College), Pat Cooney (Millersville University) and Maxine Willis (Dickinson College).

Applications will be reviewed on a continuous basis until the workshop is full. Preference will be given to applications received by April 29, 2011.
