While analyzing a 311mb, 10fps and 3:37 min long video tracker shuts itself down while autotracking

Hello,
it´s me with another question / problem.
While analyzing the video and autotracking a point mass, Tracker shuts down - just like that. Nothing saved, no sign or lag instantly before shutting down. I thought that the video would not have too much data in it (311 mb).
Tracker "warned" me before, that there is not enough ram and that I should set it higher but I already set it to the max. ram (1450 mb).
Did anyone else have this problem so far? Is there any other settings/modes/whatever I could try?

I also have another problem - yesterday I was able to load in my videos into Tracker and today Tracker gives me two errors: 1.: get_buffer() failed (-1 0 0 0) 2.: tells me that there is problems with loading the video and that I could wait for a long time or that I could convert the video into a different format.
My question would be, which format is the best to use in Tracker? I am depending on relatively high resolution because I am analyzing drone footage of a river from 95m height and want to measure the velocity of floating woodchips (18cm in diameter).
Getting really frustrated, one day it seems to work and the other day it just does not work at all - can`t even open the videos I was able to open yesterday. :(

Hi Flo, one of the best formats for Tracker is FLV. There are many free video converters out there. I use Freemake which is good but you have to ignore the ads to upgrade and don't install any extras at installation time. Just an annoyance.
If the long/large format videos continue to be a problem, you might try cutting them into shorter segments, tracking the segments separately and then combining the data in Excel or Data Tool.
Hope this helps. Doug
