Hello,
I will be as detailed as possible in the description of my issue, but please let me know if you would like to know anything else!
I am currently using Tracker to gather velocity data on a moving organisms in videos taken on my iPhone (.mov files). I recorded all videos in landscape mode, and some videos are 1080p resolution, 30fps while others are 4K resolution, 60fps.
When i first chose a subset of videos to test if Tracker was suitable for what I was doing, I faced no trouble importing them. They had the correct orientation, colors, and representation of frames. For context, I first airdropped the videos to my Macbook (M1 processor, macOS Sequoia version 15.5), then transferred them to my thumb drive (brand: Lexar). Finally, I plug my thumb drive into a different laptop (Windows), where I use Tracker to do my labeling/analyzation.
Recently, I uploaded the entire video set to the *same* hard drive (Lexar) using the method described as above. However, when I import the *same* videos from the subset I used for initial testing, many things are off with the video. The videos are upside down, are more dull in color (this doesn't matter so much with respect to what data I am gathering), and do not accurately represent each frame in the video. For a lack of better words, the videos are "glitchy" when I import them, which prevents me from gathering accurate data entirely.
I have already exhausted a couple potential sources of error, but the issue persists:
- Uploaded videos from my Mac to an alternative hard drive. - Airdropped an untrimmed version of the videos from my iPhone (I trimmed each video prior to airdropping previously).
Please, if anyone can offer advice on how to resolve this issue, I would really appreciate it, and I am happy to answer any questions. In the meantime, I will try to address other potential sources of error and update this thread if I reach a solution.
