This applet demonstrates basic wave superposition. The user can draw two waveforms and view the resulting wave on a string as they move in opposite directions towards the middle of the string. The user can select to view each of the individual waves, the sum, or both. The simulation can be slowed down to help the user examine the phenomenon more closely.
