This applet demonstrates basic wave superposition. The user can select two sinusoidal waveforms and view the resulting wave on a string as they move towards the middle in opposite directions. The user can select to view each of the individual waves, the sum, or both. The simulation can be slowed down to help the user examine the phenomenon more closely.
