This item is an interactive Java applet that simulates the motion of a physical pendulum. By changing the size and initial position of the bob, the user can observe how the motion differs from that of a simple pendulum. Velocity, forces on the object, and acceleration can all be displayed as vectors on the diagram.
This item is part of a larger collection of simulation based physics modules sponsored by the MAP project (Modular Approach to Physics).
