This item is an interactive Java tutorial for introductory physics students relating to refraction of light. Optical wedges are circular prisms having plane surfaces positioned at slight angles with respect to each other and which deflect light by refraction rather than reflection. Wedges can be manipulated to split incident light beams. This interactive tutorial explores how two wedge prisms operate together produce "beam steering".
