This resource is an introductory tutorial on capacitance, appropriate for non-science majors. It includes a brief history, simple descriptions of how capacitors work in series and parallel circuits, explanations of factors affecting capacitance, and examples of capacitors in action. The tutorial is accompanied by eight interactive java simulations that illustrate the concepts discussed.
This page is part of a much larger collection of tutorials on electricity and magnetism, created and maintained by the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory at Florida State University.
Please note that this resource requires
