These pages provide a water model of an electrical circuit. In this case, the gerbil running in its wheel and the bucket pump are the equivalent of a battery. The water represents the electrons in the circuit. The height represents the voltage. The wheel represents the resistor. As the electrons fall from high to low, energy is available to do work. This model is part of the UVA Virtual Lab collection.
