This site from the University of Virginia physics department provides an activity on electrostatic forces, performed with household materials.  The activities show clearly that objects with like charges repel, and that an uncharged object can attract a charged one.  Photographs show how the activity is performed, and diagrams make clear the locations of the static charges.
