Cosmic Quest, presented by the Indianapolis Children's Museum, offers valuable web-based activities and background information on three topics:

Living in Space: Visitors design a livable spacecraft and space colony by answering a series of multiple-choice questions. For each possible answer the next screen is instructive and interesting, especially the section on breathing. Visitors plan for air, food, water, toilets, and power. A drawback is that each part of Living in Space can be reached only by starting at the very beginning.

Field Guide to the Universe: This part presents facts about the solar system, astronomers, and spacecraft. The section on astronomers is particularly interesting, describing philosophers, astronomers, and theoretical physicists from the times of Ancient Greece to the present day.

Expedition to the North Pole: This part describes, in words and pictures, an expedition to the North Magnetic Pole in 2000. Related at-home science activities are provided.
