With this simulation from the University of Colorado, you can investigate pushing objects along a 1-D path. You can control the amount of force to "push" simulated objects of varying mass, from a book to a refrigerator. Also, you can change the force of friction and the gravitational constant. The site produces graphs of the motion.
This item is part of a larger collection of simulations developed by the Physics Education Technology project (PhET).
