Earth and Moon Viewer shows you a remarkable variety of images. For instance, you can see beautiful full-color images of Earth as seen from the Sun. This view shows the origin of the seasons, since you see where on Earth sunlight shines down from overhead, producing summer at that latitude and winter in the opposite hemisphere. Other views show vegetation and topography. Also, you can see a map that indicated the illuminated regions.

As for the moon, you can see how it looks from Earth, and vice versa, and it's interesting to relate these views to the phase of the moon at the time, which of course the site provides. A separate section shows how the eccentricity of the moon's orbit (it's not a circle) has an effect on the full moon's distance from Earth, its size in the sky, and its brightness.

To sum up, these remarkable images, and the ability to control the view, provide an outstanding learning experience.
