the Exploratorium
This Exploratorium activity shows color addition. Different-colored lights are trained on the same spot on a screen so that the reflected light is white. Colored shadows can be made by holding an object between the light sources and the screen. The site provides an explanation for what happens along with extension activities and information about the eye's retina. This activity is part of Exploratorium's Science Snacks series.
