Investigation of exceptional solar activity in September 2017: GLE 72 and unusual Forbush decrease in GCR
This free-access paper was part of the Journal of Physics Conference Series published by Institute of Science (IOP) Publishing. It provides an open-access view of numerous graphs relating to one of the CME events of September 2017, the subject of this DigiKit. The Neutron Monitor graph shows the clear decrease of galactic cosmic rays on 08 September 2017, corresponding to the aftermath of a CME event on 07 September. This decrease is attributable to the Forbush Effect (explained in the paper). Other graphs include X-ray Flux v. time, Proton Flux v. Time, and geomagnetic activity during the storm.
