The Astronomy Center has provided educational resources to introductory astronomy educators since 2003. Over the past 20 years, the rapid pace of discovery has rendered some of our linked resources obsolete. Thus, the Astronomy Center will be decommissioned on March 1, 2022. Our highest quality resources will be retained on ComPADRE.org.
The Harlow Shapley Visiting Lectureship Program of the American Astronomical Society, a program of two day visits by professional astronomers to college campuses, can bring the excitement of the modern astronomer's view of the cosmos to any host institution. Participation is open to colleges of all types -- two year and community colleges, teachers' colleges, liberal arts colleges and universities, and especially institutions that do not offer an astronomical degree.
A $250 contribution in support of the program is requested. In cases where the contribution would limit the opportunity of an institution to participate, the AAS may consider waiving a portion of the institutional fee.
