The Astronomy Center has provided educational resources to introductory astronomy educators since 2003. Over the past 20 years, the rapid pace of discovery has rendered some of our linked resources obsolete. Thus, the Astronomy Center will be decommissioned on March 1, 2022. Our highest quality resources will be retained on ComPADRE.org.

The James Webb Space Telescope is set to be NASA's infrared flagship observatory beginning in the summer of 2022. With expected resolution from 0.6 to 28.8 micron, it will enable transformative observations including research into exoplanets, star- and planet-formation, galactic formation and evolution, and cosmology. It is expected to be operational for at least 5 years, with a goal of 10.
