The Astronomy Center has provided educational resources to introductory astronomy educators since 2003. Over the past 20 years, the rapid pace of discovery has rendered some of our linked resources obsolete. Thus, the Astronomy Center will be decommissioned on March 1, 2022. Our highest quality resources will be retained on ComPADRE.org.
This web page links to recently created or updated resource guides for introductory astronomy. These instructional resource guides include: information about the history and present role of women in astronomy with biographical material and discussions of the issues that confront women in astronomy; a guide to resources debunking astronomical pseudo-science such as astrology, UFO's, doomsday scenarios, the "young universe theory", the Face on Mars, crop circles, etc.; a guide to plays about astronomers; links to find the best astronomy images; an introduction to the vexing issue of light pollution; resources about Pluto and the Kuiper Belt; and a guide to free lab exercises on astronomy.
This is part of a web site with a wide range of astronomy resources and information for educators and the general public.
