This is a lesson plan for teaching Newton's formulation of gravity as a universal force that acts similarly on terrestrial and astronomical object.  It is linked to textual reference materials about the theory and history of gravity. The motion of astronomical objects is used to motivate the presentation.  This material is part of a larger site, From Stargazers to Starships, which teaches physics through applications of space science.
