The purpose of this experiment is to familiarize the student with with basic gamma-ray spectroscopy techniques. The setup uses thallium-activated sodium iodide detectors, NaI(Tl).

It is part of Ortec's AN-34 publication, a collection of nuclear physics experiments for undergraduate laboratories.
