Statistical and Thermal Physics 2nd Ed. Programs

The Statistical and Thermal Physics (STP) collection contains ready-to-run computer programs, source code, and curricular materials to accompany the first and second editions of Statistical and Thermal Physics by Harvey Gould and Jan Tobochnik published by Princeton University Press.

JavaScript implementations of the second edition STP Programs are available in an online AAPT/ComPADRE book.

In addition to these ready to run JavaScript programs, STP programs for the first and second editions are distributed as ready-to-run (compiled) Java programs in OSP Launcher packages.  Download the osp_stp_2nd_edition.jar file or the osp_stp_1st_edition.jar file to run the programs (requires Java to be installed on your computer). Java program source code can be found in the source code section below or in the OSP code repository on  GitHub.

Python implementations of the second edition STP programs are available in the source code section below.

Please note that this resource requires at least version 1.8 of Java.
