The GR Schwarzschild Particle Exploding program simulates orbits of objects emitted in an explosion near a black hole using the Schwarzschild metric. The default setting is an explosion with an r-coordinate value of 6.0. The user can input the energy of the exploding masses and see the effective potential of any of the orbiters.
GR Schwarzschild Particle Exploding is part of a suite of Open Source Physics programs that model aspects of General Relativity. It is distributed as a ready-to-run (compiled) Java archive.Double clicking the gr_schwarzschild_particle_exploding.jar file will run the program if Java is installed. Other programs provide additional visualizations. They can be found by searching ComPADRE for Open Source Physics, OSP, or General Relativity.
