written by Cleon Teunissen
This web site contains media-illustrated articles on various physical phenomena related to the Coriolis effect. Almost all of the articles are illustrated with mathematically accurate animations and Java simulations. The articles are sequenced in a concept-building manner, beginning with a basic non-math section on the Coriolis effect in meteorology. Liberal use of modeling, animations, and diagrams, helps students to visualize this complex (and somewhat abstract) concept.

The sequence continues with rotation-vibration coupling, the consequences of Earth's rotation on oceanography and weather, the Foucault pendulum, and angular momentum conservation. There are also articles on the Eötvös effect and special and general relativity.
