Detail Page

written by Kyle Forinash
This web page contains a microscopic simulation on the pressure of a gas in a closed container.  Particles in the gas interact with each other and the walls of the container. The pressure is calculated from momentum change of the particles due to collisions with the walls.  The pressure is graphed vs time, and the user has options on the size and number of particles in the box.  Questions on the page ask the user how the model given differs from the ideal gas law, and where the differences between the two are minimized.

This page is part of a collection of Java applets with tutorial questions.
