How Do You Know if They're Getting It? Writing Assessment Items that Reveal Student Understanding

This workshop covers the process of creating a multiple choice assessment to reveal student thinking. Guidelines for creating questions and methods for assessing their usefulness are presented. The importance of research-based distractors and student interviews to explore understanding is stressed.
