written by Fu-Kwun Hwang
This applet presents a graphical, interactive picture of the motion of waves created by a moving source.  The wave velocity, source velocity, and wavelength can be changed. The resultant wave pattern is shown. The source velocity can be larger than the wave velocity.

This is part of a large collection of java simulations of physical systems. A discussion board for each simulation is available and registered users may download the program.
