This applet illustrates Lissajous figures, the patterns created by an object oscillating in two or more dimensions. In this applet, the amplitude and angular frequency of the motion in the x- and y- directions can be changed, as well as a phase shift between the oscillations in the different directions.

This is part of a large collection of physics and math applets by the author.
