This is an extensive collection of Java simulations on a diverse variety of physics-related topics. Currently numbering at more than 1,000 items, the collection aims to promote conceptual understanding of physics through visualization and interaction with digital models. The website also supports a robust collaborative community -- featuring a discussion board for each simulation, free software tools to create computer simulations, and tips for beginning Java programmers. Registration is required for participation in the discussions or online communities.

Editor's Note: Can't find the exact simulation you're looking for? This website offers a "Request for Physics Simulations" service. You describe the parameters and design requirements, and a community member will try to create a simulation for you.....for free.

Please note that this resource requires Java Applet Plug-in.
