written by Jonathan Bennett
This is a collection of 30+ Interactive Lecture Demonstration activities (ILD's) developed for use in an Introductory High School Mechanics course and a follow-up course in Electricity and Magnetism. The directory is organized sequentially to cover concepts typically addressed in a high school physics curriculum. Interactive Lecture Demonstrations are designed with the following components: 1) Predict an outcome of an experiment based on student's prior understanding; 2) Carry out the demonstration in cooperative groups by conducting a short experiment or analyzing data to confirm or refute the prediction; and 3) Reflect on the outcome and explain any discrepancies between prediction and results.

See Related Materials for an overview of the pedagogy behind the Interactive Lecture Demonstration teaching method, studies on its effectiveness, and articles on how to implement it in the classroom.
