This website, developed by the Exploratorium Museum, analyzes the physics of skateboarding in great detail. It goes into many different 'tricks' and the effect of materials and design on the behavior of the skateboard. Learners will explore how the sport of skateboarding is governed by the principles of momentum, gravity, friction, and rotational dynamics. It is appropriate for high school, but could easily be adapted for 8th grade physical science.
