Problem 6.1: Relative probability distribution
Animation 1 | Animation 2 | Animation 3 | Animation 4 | Animation 5
Please wait for the animation to completely load.
Five animations depict a ball moving from left to right through the starting and finishing gates. Instead of showing the motion of the ball, a graph is shown of the relative probability (therefore it is not necessarily normalized) of finding the ball near a given position vs. that position. Only when the ball is between x = 0 m and x = 10 m is this information sent to the graph. Restart. View the animations and then:
- Rank the animations by the acceleration of the balls. Ties in ( ) please.
- Qualitatively describe the potential energy function in each animation.
