The animations show both a harmonic oscillator well and a half infinite-half harmonic oscillator well. The half well is created by splitting the original well in half by inserting an infinite wall at the origin. The slider changes the strength of the harmonic oscillator by increasing the value of k (ħ = 2m = 1).  To see the other bound states, simply click-drag in the energy level diagram on the left to select a level. The selected level will turn red. Compare and contrast the energy eigenfunctions and the energy levels of these two related wells for k = 2 and k = 4.
