Problem 5.9: Uncertainty principle and double slit
Please wait for the animation to completely load.
Photons (or electrons) are incident on a double slit (slit width of 1 micron and separation of 5 microns) and pass through to be detected on a screen as shown in the animation (intensity is given in arbitrary units, scaled so the maximum value is 1 and the position on the screen is given in mm). If wavelength of the incident waves/particles on the double slit is 0.5 microns, how far is the screen from the source? What is the uncertainty of the momentum in the x direction as measured at the screen? Restart.
