Quantum Computing Mini-Labs for Quantum Mechanics Course

This is a set of 6 in-class activities I integrated into an upper-level Quantum Mechanics course teaching students some of the basic aspects of quantum computing using IBM’s Quantum Composer. We don't have a dedicated course on Quantum Information course, and I wanted to showcase applications of quantum mechanics, make the course somewhat more accessible, and expose them to a quickly growing field. Students learn the math and concept behind fundamental gates, and use those in some typical algorithms, such as Grover's Search, Deutsch-Jozsa, and the Half-Adder. They also perform a Bell's Experiment on a real quantum computer remotely. I did approximately 1 lab every other week during a 60-minute in-class session. For the most part these were "one-off" days that were not connected the QM topic for that week. Sometimes I introduced background theory in the prior class session. Each activity took about 1-3 hours for students to complete and write-up. This activity includes the lab manual, my solutions, and lecture notes. I am happy to provide the Latex files upon request.
