This book by noted American educational psychologist Robert Slavin presents an easily understood and concise guide to research from 1980-1995 related to cooperative learning. Slavin discusses "essential elements of cooperative methods needed to make them effective for achievement": intergroup relationships, positive mainstreaming outcomes, self-esteem/self-efficacy, and cooperative group dynamics. The late Dr. Slavin is also noted for developing the Success for All model of reform for elementary and middle schools.
