Vibrating Plate JS Model

written by Wolfgang Christian

The Vibrating Plate JavaScript Model displays the analytical wave equation solution for a thin  two-dimensional plate with width and length (a,b) and with a fixed boundary. The spatial part of the analytic solution u(x,y) is expressed in rectangular coordinates using sinusoidal functions. These single frequency solutions are known as modes and are described by positive integers m and n that count the number of nodes in the x- and y-direction, respectively.

The Vibrating Plate JavaScript Model was developed using version 5 of the Easy Java Simulations (EJS 5) modeling tool. Although EJS is a Java program, EJS 5 creates stand alone JavaScript programs that run in almost any browser.
