written by
Luis de la Torre and Hector Vargas Oyarzun The Three Tank Level Control Model simulates the use of a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller to to achieve a smooth control of the water level in tanks 1 and 2 of the coupled three-tank system. The three coupled tanks system consist in a series of three tanks which are connected in their base by valves. Tanks 1 and 2 are placed in the extremes and receive the water flow which can be controlled either manually or with the PID while tank 3 is placed in the middle and couples the two previous tanks.
