Servo Motor Position and Velocity Control Model

written by Luis de la Torre and Hector Vargas Oyarzun

The Servo Motor Position and Velocity Control Model simulates the use of a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller to run DC a motor.  The motor is modeled as a first order system and the simulation allows the user to control either the position of the motor or its velocity.

This EJS simulation is based on a real system running at the Spanish Open University for Distance Education (UNED).  The real DC motor is used as a remote laboratory for learning purposes and a different application created with EJS (visually identical to this simulation) serves as graphical user interface to operate the remote laboratory.
