Colin F. C. Thomson The Integrate-and-Fire model may be considered the oldest computational model of a neuron, and is also one of the simplest. The Integrate-and-Fire model (IF) was developed by Louis Lapicque in 1907 and takes into account only the ohmic leakage of the neuron, and as such is a single linear differential equation. We will take advantage of this simplicity in proving analytically facts about the period of firing.
