I wanted to post here before trying to file a bug since it is possible I am just missing something.
I had a student contact me today saying they were trying to use the online version of Tracker because (in spite of the recommendations of the university that I work at that they should have a real computer) they only have an iPad Pro with a keyboard. I went to test the online version myself, and was having the same difficulties they were describing.
Effectively, I can load a video and see it in Tracker Online, but when I go to actually track anything in the video, it doesn't actually record any points and no data shows up in the table. Further, after a single click, I cannot even attempt to track any further points without clicking on the point mass label.
See this video on YouTube: https://youtu.be/u0njuBfRPhA
Has anyone else had this problem? If so did you find a solution?
I am unable to reproduce the error using my desktop computer running Safari and Google Chrome. We will try and reproduce it on an iPad tomorrow. Please provide some additional information:
Are you using touch events on the screen or does the iPad Pro have a track-pad or a mouse? Touch event are still problematic in Tracker.
Please upload the video to this discussion thread so that we can test the same video.
i assume you have cleared the cache and are using Tracker Online version 6.1.6.
The video in the link was taken on my desktop computer running the latest version of Chrome on fully updated Manjaro Linux, so there is some issue there. Whether it is a bug or something on my end is the question. I can, however, note that I am experiencing the same problem on Windows 10 with the latest version of Chrome.
I am willing to provide any additional information that would be useful in tracking the issue down. The steps that I am taking are:
1. Load the video file 2. Click the Track icon and select new -> point mass 3. Hold shift and then click to track the position
Holding shift causes the cursor to change as expected, but after clicking, no information is tracked, i.e. the table in the bottom right is still empty. To get the cursor to change while again while trying to track, I have to reselect that I want to track mass A.
Are there any log files generated that might have useful information? I would be willing to pass them along.
I had actually looked into doing just that after my last post. Unfortunately, with the log window open, as soon as I click to track a point, the log window closes.
