An idea for a new measurement or calibration tool

I really would like a ruler (a measurement tool) that could be fitted on the photo of a spectrum and be calibrated in nanometers based on the calibration of the spectrum. The ruler itself could even be used as the calibration tool.

See attached photo.

I'm traveling and don't have my laptop with me to verify this, but I think you can already get what you want with the existing tape measure. First use calibration points to calibrate the spectrum in nm, then create a tape of any initial length. Select the tape and in the toolbar length field set the length to 800 as you show in your image. Then with the mouse drag the tape so the 800 end is at the right place. VoilĂ . The only difference from your image is the left end of the tape will extend off screen. Does this work? Doug
