Calculations for >1 step

I'm fairly new to using Tracker and notice the velocity and acceleration calculations rely on having data from 1-step intervals. For example if I mark a point mass in a frame then skip ahead 5 steps Tracker does not calculate velocity because it doesn't have the required position data.

I am wondering if there is a way to adjust the algorithm based on a specified number of steps? I have not been able to find anything in the documentation.

Thanks in advance.

You have to mark every STEP but not every FRAME if the step size >1. Maybe you just need to set the step size to 5 frames?

Thank you Doug! Much appreciated.

One additional question for you, is there a way to apply a calibration stick to multiple files? Or does each video require its own calibration.

I was hoping to calibrate one video, and then knowing my setup stayed constant apply the same calibration across other videos taken to reduce any error from multiple calibrations.

Yes you can apply the same calibration to multiple videos. But you do it by reusing the same coordinate system, not the calibration stick. In the calibrated tab, choose Edit |Copy Object |coordinate system, then in the target tab, choose Edit |Paste. Another option is to save the calibrated tab in a TRK file, then use File |Import |Tracker file and choose the coordinate system in the import dialog.
