I recorded a video on my iPhone and then tried to upload to tracker but every time it just says that tracker could not upload the video. I have tried multiple times to redo the video, delete tracker and re download the program and nothing works. I will post below the image that keeps popping up every time I try to upload the video. Please help
You appear to be using the Applications folder on a Mac as your Tracker home directory. The Applications fold is usually write protected. Try another home directory. If that does not work, you can try to reinstall the latest Tracker as that should reset the home directory.
The reason I use the application tab as my home directory is because tracker will only let me pull videos from there and not anywhere else. It won't even pull up any of the other tabs. Have any idea on how to fix that?
Hello, Felipe. I had the same problem several days ago. I could work it out by using HandBrake (an open source video transcoder), and changing the video encoder to MPEG-4. I also had to change the quality to Average Bitrate because, although the video successfully uploaded to Tracker, it kept jumping almost in random steps. Another thing that I tried and worked was to upload the video to iMovie. I extracted (trimmed) the section where the movement ocurred and used the option Share in the form of a File. In that way I was able to create a video that worked well on Tracker.
I recorded a video on my iPhone XR (iOS 13.4.1, default video settings) and transferred it to my Mac (Mac OS 10.15.4) to open it with Tracker (version 5.1.4). Tracker will not open the video. It gives a "Video could not be opened" message. Looking at the video information in Quicktime, the video has a .MOV extension and is encoded in HEVC (8-bit) format. If i use Quicktime Player to export the video in 1080p format, the result is a video with a .mov extension encoded in H.264 format. Tracker can open this one. If I use Handbrake to transcode the original video with a constant frame rate, I get a file with an .mp4 extension that is encoded in H.264 format. Tracker can open this file as well.
I can successfully transcode and open iPhone videos, but I think my students will have difficulty with these extra steps. Is there any way to get Tracker to open the original iPhone video files that seem to be encoded with HEVC by default?
Unfortunately, if the Xuggle video engine is unable to open the original video there's nothing I can do about it at this point :-( Doug

Hi, you just should keep an eye on the video quality I mean 1k/720p, the first one probably won't work for the tracker. Secondly, try to convert your video from MOV to MPEG-4, because this format will work for sure, I already tried. If it will help you, I converted my file with movavi video converter which I found after reading this article.
