GoPro video 60 fps and 120 fps

I am using Tracker 5.0.5 to analyze the .mp4 files captures by GoPro silver 4. The videos with 30 fps works fine with Tracker. However, when it came to 60 fps, the output showed the same value for every two consecutive points. Similarly for 120 fps, the output showed the same value for every four consecutive points (please see attached plot and table). Any suggestion or advice on this issue would be appreciated. Thanks.

Is this link of any use?  https://community.gopro.com/t5/Cameras/60fps-duplicates-frames/td-p/64224  Doug

Hi Doug,

Your link didn't work. But it inspired me find the solution. It is the problem with GoPro default setting for auto "low light". With "low light" mode on, the frame rate reduces automatically. So if I want real high 60 or 120 fps, I need to turn "low light" off in GoPro settings. Now it works well for me. Here is the reference link: https://community.gopro.com/t5/Cameras/High-speed-video-frame-doubling-issues/td-p/15968

Appreciate your time for answering and the powerful Tracker.

I have footage shot at 1080P 120fps from camera. My understanding is that the reason to shoot this many frames is to slow the footage down to make it smoother.

1. Is the best way to do this with the speed/duration option?

2. If I decide to not slow the footage down, is there anything in PP that I should do to make the footage play back nicely?

Thanks.
