I'd like to use Tracker in my Physics classroom, but I've got a limitation: The computers (which are running Windows 7) have a 64 bit Java VM. The way the computers are administered, I can't simply install a 32 bit VM, nor will the district do so.
So... If I understand right, that means Xuggle won't work. Is there a workable alternative?
If you can convert your videos to animated GIF format then Tracker will open them on 64-bit Windows machines. One way to do this is to open the video in Tracker on a separate machine (e.g., personal laptop running OSX or in a 32-bit VM on Windows) and choose File|Export|Video Clip. Set the content to Video only and the format to animated GIF.
