loading lagarith compressed video

Hi,

I am trying to use Tracker for automated tracking of rat behavior videos. My videos were compressed using lagarith lossless codec (source: http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html). The video size is 1000 frames, with each frame size 960 x 792 encoded @ 30fps. I am trying to upload these videos on Tracker using either Xuggle or QuickTime, but the video loading fails after about 1% with the error message "Video could not be opened".

Could you please help me?
Thanks,
Urvashi

Hi Urvashi,

Can you open your lagarith videos in the QuickTime player? I think QuickTime is your best option for this codec--I doubt that Xuggle knows how to handle it.

Hey Doug,

Thanks for the reply. Initially Quick Time asked for additional plugins to support the file and I installed both DivX and XVid. It is able to load the video now, but is playing a blank/dark video.

Would you know of any additional plugins with Quick Time that allow lagarith compatibility? I searched and I think Mac doesn't yet support that codec.

Sorry, Urvashi, I wish I could help but I really don't know anything about the lagarith codec. If you do get it working on Mac, please be sure to let me (and the discussion group) know :-)  Doug

Hey Doug,

Unfortunately, the solution doesn't exist.  Will update the post in case I come across a solution.

Thanks for the help.
